A person's worth is not granted by what they have accomplished. They are breathing. That alone is already enough.

この一文を、美しい願いとしてではなく、設計の前提条件として扱うこと。OPEN LOGOS のすべての活動は、そこから始まる。

Everything OPEN LOGOS does begins by treating that sentence not as a beautiful wish, but as a design requirement.

尊厳を語る言葉は、これまでにも数えきれないほど書かれてきた。足りなかったのは言葉ではない。その尊厳を、実際に地上で成り立たせるための水と、エネルギーと、読める原典だった。

Words about dignity have been written without number. What was missing was never the words. It was the water, the energy, and the readable source texts that would let dignity actually stand up on the ground.

だから私たちは、宣言と同時に設計図を配る。

So we publish the drawings alongside the declaration.

宣言｜存在（Being）そのものの尊厳

Declaration — The dignity of being

人間の本質的な価値は、何かを達成すること（Doing）によって与えられるものではない。いかなる条件にも縛られず、生きて存在するその瞬間（Being）において、すべての人は冒すことのできない尊厳を有している。

Human worth is not conferred by achievement. Bound by no condition whatsoever, every person holds an inviolable dignity in the simple fact of being alive.

尊厳は、誰かが与えるものではない。だから、誰にも奪うことができない。

Dignity is not given by anyone. That is precisely why no one can take it away.

市場がそれに値をつけることはできない。国家がそれを発行することはできない。アルゴリズムがそれを採点することはできない。生産性の低い日の人間が、生産性の高い日の人間より価値が低いということは、決してない。

No market can price it. No state can issue it. No algorithm can score it. A person is not worth less on an unproductive day than on a productive one.

にもかかわらず、尊厳は日々、静かに削られている。理由は単純である。生きるために必要なものを他人に握られている者は、自由に考えることができない。そして、自由に考えられなくなった者は、自分の生を自分の物語として語ることができない。

And yet dignity is being quietly worn away, day after day. The reason is simple. Whoever depends on someone else for what they need to live cannot think freely. And whoever cannot think freely can no longer tell their own life as their own story.

尊厳の問題は、最終的にはインフラの問題である。私たちはそう考えている。

In the end, dignity is a question of infrastructure. That is our position.

私たちの精神は、情報アルゴリズムと集団心理によって、認知の自由を奪われつつある。何を見るかを自分で選んでいるつもりで、選ばされている。何を正しいと感じるかを自分で決めているつもりで、決められている。

Our minds are steadily losing their freedom of perception to recommendation algorithms and crowd psychology. We believe we choose what we see; we are shown it. We believe we decide what feels true; it is decided for us.

原典は図書館の奥に眠り、要約と切り抜きだけが流通する。思索の材料そのものが、少数の配信経路に握られている。

The primary sources sleep at the back of the library while summaries and clippings circulate in their place. The raw material of thought itself is held by a handful of distribution channels.

生存の従属

Dependency of the body

私たちの身体は、生存に必要な生命ライン——水、食料、エネルギー——を、巨大な中央依存型インフラに完全に委ねている。それは平時には快適さであり、有事には首輪である。

Our bodies have handed over the lines that keep them alive — water, food, energy — entirely to vast centralised infrastructure. In calm times that is comfort. In a crisis it is a collar.

蛇口をひねれば水が出る。その一点に、私たちの自由のほとんどが担保されている。

Turn the tap and water comes out. Almost all of our freedom is collateralised on that single fact.

そして、ひとつの分断

And one rift beneath both

科学技術は、人間の内面と生命への敬意から切り離されて無機質化した。一方で精神的な知恵は、現実の肉体を守り生かす力から引きはがされ、無力化した。

Science and engineering were cut away from any reverence for inner life and turned inert. Spiritual wisdom, in turn, was torn from the power to shelter and sustain an actual body, and rendered helpless.

片方は、魂を失った力になった。
片方は、力を失った魂になった。

One became power without a soul.
The other became a soul without power.

この分断こそが、二重の従属を生んだ根そのものである。だから私たちは、どちらか一方を強化するのではなく、裂け目そのものを縫い直すことから始める。

That rift is the root from which both dependencies grew. So we do not begin by reinforcing one side or the other. We begin by sewing the tear itself back together.

回復｜LOGOS という一語

Recovery — One word: logos

古代において「ロゴス（LOGOS）」という一語は、二つの真理を同時に指していた。人間の内面と思索を照らす精神の智慧であり、同時に、宇宙と自然界を動かす物理の法則であった。

In antiquity the single word logos pointed at two truths at once. It was the wisdom that lights up inner life and thought, and it was the law that moves the cosmos and the natural world.

それは言葉であり、理であり、秩序であり、比であった。語ることと、世界が実際に動くこととは、ひとつの原理の二つの現れだと考えられていた。

It meant word, and reason, and order, and ratio. Speaking and the actual motion of the world were understood as two appearances of one principle.

近代は、この一語を二つに裂いた。裂いたことで、私たちは比類のない精密さを手に入れ、そのかわりに意味を落とした。

Modernity split that word in two. In splitting it we gained an unmatched precision, and set meaning down somewhere along the way.

OPEN LOGOS という名は、懐古ではない。この一語を元に戻す、という宣言である。

The name OPEN LOGOS is not nostalgia. It is a statement of intent: to put that word back together.

構造｜二つのコア・アーキテクチャ

Architecture — Two core architectures

ゆえに OPEN LOGOS は、二本の柱としてつくられる。片方だけでは倒れる。二本あって初めて、人が住める。

OPEN LOGOS is therefore built as two pillars. One alone falls over. Only with both can anyone live inside.

検証の段階

The verification ladder

設計図は、公開した瞬間に完成するわけではない。そして、特許庁がかつて権利を認めたという事実は、その機構が実際に動くことの保証ではない。審査が見るのは新規性と進歩性であって、性能ではないからだ。だから私たちは、一枚ごとに「どこまで確かめたか」を五段階で明示する。

A drawing is not finished the moment it is published. And the fact that a patent office once granted a right is not a guarantee that the mechanism runs — examination looks at novelty and inventive step, not at performance. So every sheet carries a label saying how far it has been verified.

1. 翻刻原典の図面を、現代のCADとデータに写した。動作は未検証。
2. 成立確認寸法・材料・力学の整合を机上で検証した。原理としては成立する。
3. 試作実際に組み上げた記録がある。
4. 実測動かし、性能を測った数値がある。
5. 運用生活のなかで使われ続け、長期の記録がある。

初期に公開されるもののほとんどは、翻刻か成立確認の段階にとどまる。それでいい。私たちが約束するのは「すべてが動く」ことではなく、段階を偽らないことである。

Nearly everything published early will sit at transcribed or reviewed. That is fine. What we promise is not that everything works, but that we never misstate the stage.

翻刻のままの図面は、隠すべき欠陥ではない。まだ誰も組んでいない、という事実の公開であり、そのまま協力者への呼びかけである。

A drawing that is still only transcribed is not a flaw to hide. It is the published fact that no one has built it yet — which is the same thing as an open call for whoever will.

二つの区分は、目録ではなく、判定の基準である

The two are not a catalogue. They are a test.

Text と Mechanics は、収蔵先の一覧ではない。新しい対象が現れたとき、私たちが問うのはただ一つ——それは読むためのものか、作るためのものか。この基準を保つかぎり、対象がどれだけ広がっても、この宣言は書き換えなくてよい。

Text and Mechanics are not a list of what we collect. When something new appears, we ask one question only: is this for reading, or for building? As long as we hold to that test, this declaration stays valid however far the collection grows.

そして、多くの資料は両方に属する。失効した特許明細書は読み物であり、同時に設計図である。古い建築書は思想であり、同時に施工手順である。分類は排他ではない。入り口が二つある、というだけのことである。

And much of the material belongs to both. An expired patent specification is a document to read and a drawing to build from. An old book on building is a body of thought and a set of construction steps. The categories do not exclude each other. They are simply two doors into the same room.

Text は、人が自分の頭で世界を読むための装置である。Mechanics は、その頭を載せた身体を、誰にも人質に取らせないための装置である。二つは同じ一つの目的の、内側と外側にすぎない。

Text is the apparatus by which a person reads the world with their own mind. Mechanics is the apparatus that keeps the body carrying that mind from being held hostage. They are the inside and the outside of one purpose.

基底｜存在のニーズ

Ground — The needs of being

人間として生きるために、交渉の余地なく満たされているべき条件がある。私たちはこれを「存在のニーズ」と呼ぶ。五つの層に分かれるが、順位はない。どれか一つでも欠ければ、他がどれだけ満たされていても、人は怒りと不全感を抱えたまま育つことができない。

There are conditions that must be met, without room for negotiation, for a person to live as a person. We call them the needs of being. They fall into five layers, but there is no ranking among them. If even one is missing, no amount of the others will prevent a person from stalling in anger and incompleteness.

一｜身体のニーズ

5. Of conviction — what you hold from your own side

• 生まれながらの平等すべての人間と生命は平等であり、それぞれ異なる領域で力を発揮する権利を持つ。
• 責任ある自立自分の選択から生まれた結果を、自分で引き受けるという決意。
• 認識の正当性その人がその時に見て、感じていることは、その人にとって事実である。他人のそれもまた同じである。
• 罪の不在人は罪を負って生まれてはこない。あるのは間違いと、そこからの学びだけである。
• 介入への抵抗自分の身体、資産、空間への不当な介入を拒み、最後まで抵抗する権利。

最後の一群だけは、他と性質が異なる。前の四つが外から満たされるべき条件であるのに対し、これは自分の側が持つ信念である。だが、外側の条件がどれだけ整っても、この信念が欠ければ尊厳は立たない。逆に、この信念があるとき、人は欠けた条件を取り戻すために動き始める。

Only the last group is different in kind. The first four are conditions to be met from outside; this one is conviction held from your own side. However well the outer conditions are arranged, dignity will not stand without it — and wherever it is present, a person begins moving to recover whatever is missing.

これらは福利厚生ではない。成果と引き換えに支給される報酬でもない。どれか一つでも他者の許可を必要とする状態にあるとき、その人の尊厳はすでに条件付きになっている。

These are not benefits. They are not compensation paid out in exchange for results. The moment even one of them requires someone else's permission, that person's dignity has already become conditional.

OPEN LOGOS のすべての成果物は、ただ一つの問いで評価される。これは、誰かの「存在のニーズ」を、誰の許可もなしに満たせるようにするか。

Everything OPEN LOGOS produces is judged by one question. Does this let someone meet a need of being without anyone's permission?

設計理論｜循環を描き、実例に学ぶ

思想と機械を並べただけでは、生態系にはならない。両者を一つの生きた回路として成立させるために、私たちは二つの学問を土台に据える。

Setting thought and machinery side by side does not make an ecosystem. To make the two hold together as one living circuit, we build on two disciplines.

システム思考 — 全体がどう循環しているか

Systems thinking — how the whole circulates

水、食料、言葉、認知、思想を孤立した部品として扱うのではなく、要素間のフィードバックループとして統合する思考法である。

A way of thinking that refuses to treat water, food, language, perception and ideas as isolated parts, and integrates them as feedback loops between elements.

Mechanics においては、雨水・太陽光・土壌・微生物・人間の生活空間がどう循環し、自己完結する回路を形成するかを描くための論理的基盤になる。Text においては、思想や言葉を単一のドグマではなく、歴史と認知の動的なシステムとして読み解くレンズになる。万物を貫く秩序を読むという意味で、これはロゴスそのものの方法論である。

In Mechanics it is the logical ground for describing how rainwater, sunlight, soil, microbes and human living space circulate into a self-closing circuit. In Text it is the lens for reading ideas and language not as a single doctrine but as a dynamic system of history and cognition. As a way of reading the order that runs through everything, it is the method of logos itself.

文化人類学 — 人がどう尊厳を保って生きてきたか

Cultural anthropology — how people have kept their dignity

中央集権的な巨大国家や近代産業インフラに依存せずとも、人類がいかに多様な土地で生存のニーズを満たし、神話や儀礼（Text）とローカルな道具（Mechanics）を用いて尊厳高く生きてきたかを示す、実証の学問である。

The empirical discipline that shows how, without depending on a centralised state or industrial infrastructure, people across countless landscapes have met their needs and lived with dignity using myth and ritual (Text) and local tools (Mechanics).

ここには決定的な意味がある。私たちの構想は空想ではない、という証拠が、すでに地上に何千通りも存在するということだ。近代的な生産性の物差しに偏らず、古今東西の共同体が「ただそこに存在すること」をどう祝い、どう守ってきたかを読み解く。西欧の古典も、辺境の口承も、等しく「人間が生きるための共通の知恵」として扱う。

This matters decisively: the proof that our design is not a fantasy already exists on this earth in thousands of versions. Refusing to measure everything by modern productivity, we read how communities across every era and region have celebrated and protected the bare fact of being there. A European classic and an oral tradition from the margins are treated alike, as shared knowledge for how to live.

システム思考が構造を解明し、文化人類学が実例を証明する。だから OPEN LOGOS は、抽象論にもデータベースにも留まらず、再現可能な生態系になる。

Systems thinking works out the structure; anthropology supplies the proof. That is how OPEN LOGOS stops being an argument or a database and becomes a reproducible ecosystem.

座標｜なぜ、いまなのか

Coordinates — Why now

私たちは、自分たちが立っている場所を確かめるために、ひとつの地図を参照する。クレア・グレーブス博士の出現循環理論（E-C理論）、およびそこから発展したスパイラル・ダイナミクスである。

To work out where we are standing, we consult a map: Clare W. Graves's emergent cyclical theory of adult development, and the Spiral Dynamics work that grew out of it.

その見取り図によれば、人間の意識は「環境側の生活条件」と「人間側の対処能力」という二本の鎖が絡み合う二重らせんとして展開する。そして、生存の恐怖に駆動される段階群（ファーストティア）から、存在そのものを直視する段階群（セカンドティア）への移行は、これまでの段階移行とは質の異なる歴史的大跳躍として描かれた。

On that map, human consciousness unfolds as a double helix of two strands: the life conditions of the environment, and the coping capacity of the organism. And the move from the stages driven by fear of not surviving to the stages that can look at existence itself is described as a momentous leap — different in kind from every transition before it.

Laid on that map, the two pillars of OPEN LOGOS stop looking like an arbitrary pairing.

Text は、計算された情報操作と集団的な同調圧力の双方から認知を取り戻し、どのドグマにも依存せずに世界を多角的に理解する力——認知的自立——を支える。Mechanics は、資源の枯渇と中央依存型インフラの脆弱性という、現代に固有の第二の生存課題に対して、水・エネルギー・食料という最下層の要件を自力で満たすことで答える。恐怖から解放された土台の上でしか、人は存在を直視できないからである。

Text takes perception back from both calculated information control and collective conformity, and underwrites the capacity to understand the world from many angles without leaning on any doctrine — cognitive autonomy. Mechanics answers the second-order survival problem peculiar to our time, resource depletion and the fragility of centralised infrastructure, by meeting the lowest-level requirements — water, energy, food — under one's own power. Only from a footing cleared of fear can a person look existence in the face.

そして、客観的な科学と、深い内面性を持つ精神とを、対立物ではなく一つの生命の両輪として扱うこと。それは、この地図の最も遠い縁に描かれた風景——全生命の調和と、科学と形而上学の架橋——と、そのまま重なる。効率や利益（Doing）を超え、生きている地球と生命圏そのもの（Being）に価値を置く態度である。

And to treat objective science and deep interiority not as opponents but as two wheels of a single life — that lands exactly on the landscape drawn at the far edge of this map: the harmony of all living things, and a bridge between science and metaphysics. It is the stance that moves past efficiency and profit (Doing) to place value on the living earth and the biosphere itself (Being).

独立（Independent）でもなく、依存（Dependent）でもなく、互いの尊厳と自律を認め合う相互依存（Interdependent）。私たちが差し出したい社会インフラの形は、それに尽きる。

Not independent, not dependent, but interdependent — each recognising the dignity and autonomy of the other. That, and nothing more, is the shape of the social infrastructure we want to offer.

断っておく。この理論は権威ではなく、地図である。地図が土地に勝ることはない。私たちがこれを引くのは、自分たちの直観に箔をつけるためではなく、「なぜ言葉と機械を同時に開かねばならないのか」を他人に説明できる言語が必要だからである。より良い地図が現れれば、私たちは迷わず描き換える。

A caveat. This theory is a map, not an authority, and no map outranks the terrain. We cite it not to lend our intuitions a veneer of credibility, but because we need language to explain to other people why words and machines have to be opened at the same time. If a better map appears, we will redraw without hesitating.

約束｜私たちが守る七つの原則

Covenant — Seven principles we hold to

宣言は、破れない約束に翻訳されて初めて信用に値する。OPEN LOGOS に関わるすべての成果物は、次の原則に従う。

A declaration earns trust only once it has been translated into promises that cannot be broken. Everything produced under OPEN LOGOS follows these.

1. ひらいたものは、閉じない公開した原典・訳文・図面・データは、永続的に自由利用できる状態を維持する。後から囲い込むことはしない。
2. 布教しない聖典を扱い、思想を扱う。しかし特定の教義を勧めない。読む順序も、結論も、読む人のものである。
3. 検証の段階を偽らないどこまで確かめたかを、設計図ごとに明示する。翻刻しかしていないものを、試作済みのように見せない。動かなかった記録も、動いた記録と同じ重さで公開する。
4. 手に入るもので作る特殊な部材、高価な装置、特定企業の供給に依存する設計を推奨しない。入手性は、思想の一部である。
5. 環境を搾取しない自立のために自然を削る設計は採用しない。循環に還らない出力を、成果とは呼ばない。
6. 誰のものでもない言語で書く多言語・多文化を前提とする。権威的なフィルターを通さず、あらゆる伝承を等しく人類の知恵として扱う。

1. What is opened does not closeSources, translations, drawings and data, once published, stay freely usable in perpetuity. We do not fence them in later.
2. No proselytisingWe handle scripture and we handle philosophy. We recommend no doctrine. The order you read in and the conclusions you reach are yours.
3. Never misstate the verification stageEvery drawing says how far it has been checked. Something only transcribed is never shown as though it had been built. Records of what did not work are published with the same weight as records of what did.
4. Build from what is availableWe do not endorse designs that rely on exotic materials, expensive equipment, or one company's supply. Availability is part of the philosophy.
5. Do not strip the environmentWe do not adopt designs that cut into nature in the name of autonomy. An output that does not return to the cycle is not a result.
6. Write in no one's private languageMultilingual and multicultural by default. No authoritative filter: every tradition is treated equally as knowledge belonging to all of us.
7. Welcome the forkWe will not obstruct forking, criticism or rewriting. Only a design that needs no centre can stay free of a centre's failures.
